Privacy Policy
Funzys is built around a simple promise: your family’s data is yours. No ads, no data selling, and full control to export or delete everything from inside the app.
The short version
Funzys helps parents find age-right, real-world places and activities for their kids. Parents are our users; kids are profile data on a parent’s account, never their own accounts.
- We do not show ads and we do not sell or rent your data.
- Your kids’ profiles, your family graph, your location, visits, favorites, posts, and any photos are treated as sensitive.
- You can export everything we store, or delete your account and all family data, from inside the app at any time.
Who this applies to
Funzys is intended for parents and adult guardians. We do not knowingly let children create accounts, log in, or post. Information about a child only exists because a parent chose to add it to their own account to personalize age-appropriate recommendations.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
A child’s name, age (stored as an approximate birth date), avatar, and interests are provided by the parent, under the parent’s control, and used only to tailor age-right discovery for that family.
- No child accounts, child logins, or child-directed posting.
- Kid profile data is visible only to the owning parent (and, for favorites only, to families the parent has explicitly added as trusted).
- A parent can review, edit, or remove any kid profile, and export or delete all of it, at any time from the app.
- We do not use kid data for advertising and never sell it.
Information we collect
- Account: your email and authentication identifiers (via Supabase Auth).
- Family profile: your display name, home city, and the kid profiles you add (name, approximate age, avatar, interests).
- Activity: places you favorite, reviews you write, visits you log, and trusted-family connections you create.
- Location: a city (and optional coarse coordinates) used to find nearby kid-friendly places — only when you provide it or grant location permission.
- Media: photos you choose to upload, stored in a private bucket and shared only through authorized, expiring links after moderation.
- Diagnostics: if crash reporting is enabled, error reports are scrubbed of names, emails, coordinates, and tokens before they leave the device.
How we use information
- To personalize age- and interest-right recommendations for your family.
- To operate core features: discovery, reviews and age scoring, favorites, trusted-family sharing, and the parent community.
- To keep the community safe (reporting, moderation, rate limits).
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability, using privacy-scrubbed reports only.
How information is shared
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We share only as needed to run the service:
- Service providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, private storage), Google Places (place data, fetched on demand — we do not send your kids’ data to Google), and, when enabled, Sentry (privacy-scrubbed crash diagnostics).
- Trusted families: only the favorites you choose to share, and only with families you explicitly add — reversible at any time.
- Legal: when required by law or to protect safety.
Storage and security
- Row-level security restricts every family’s private data to that family.
- User photos live in a private bucket and are reachable only through short-lived signed URLs after moderation approval.
- Data is encrypted in transit. Server-only secrets are never shipped to the app or browser.
Your choices and rights
- Access / export: download everything we store for your family, in the app under Account & privacy.
- Deletion: delete your account and all family data in the app; this removes your family, kids, favorites, reviews, visits, trusted connections, and media.
- Edit / remove kids and revoke trusted-family connections at any time.
- Location is optional and can be turned off in your device settings.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, family-owned data is removed promptly; limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Where data is processed
Funzys uses Supabase and Google services; data may be processed in the United States and other regions where these providers operate.
Changes
We will update this policy as the product evolves and note the effective date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
